The provincial Conservatives say Premier Brian Gallant is in political trouble in Saint John and that’s why he made himself the Regional Minister for Saint John according to M-L-A Glen Savoie of Saint John East.
Savoie claims Saint John Harbour M-L-A Dr. Ed Doherty was made a scapegoat for the property tax debacle because it was the Premier who was responsible for fast tracking a new system for assessing properties that went off the rails.
Saint John Lancaster M-L-A Dorothy Shephard says the departure of Doherty from the cabinet leaves the city without locally elected representation at the cabinet table.
