Conservatives Win Provincial Byelection

The Carleton byelection held yesterday and the Conservatives won it easily.

Stewart Fairgrieve capturing the riding by almost a thousand votes over Liberal Courtenay Keenan. Green Party candidate Andrew Clark came in third ahead of the NDP.

The riding had been represented by former Premier David Alward since 1999. Alward resigned as Premier after losing last year’s provincial election and was later appointed consul-general in Boston.
