Convicted sex offender arrested in Ottawa

A convicted sex offender wanted on a Canada-wide warrant has been arrested.

Saint John police say Shane McCabe, 45, was taken into custody on Thursday in Ottawa.

McCabe was accused of breaching his 10-year supervision order following two federal sentences for several offences.

They include possessing, distributing, printing/publishing and accessing child pornography, drug possession, failing to attend court, failing to comply with a probation order, and breaching a long-term supervision order.
