UPDATE: Convicted Sex Offender Back In Custody

Police say a convicted sex offender wanted on a Canada-wide warrant has been arrested.

Michael Stewart turned himself in to police on Thursday afternoon, according to a release from Saint John police on Friday.

Stewart, who had been residing at a community correctional centre in Saint John, is accused of breaching the conditions of his statutory release.

The 33-year-old is serving a sentence of more than 27 months for sexual interference with someone under 16, exposure to someone under 16, and forcible confinement.

Investigators said he may have been in the area of Flemming Court or Anglin Drive in the city.
