Coroner’s inquest to be held in inmate’s death

A man serving an intermittent sentence at the Southeast Regional Correctional Centre in Shediac has died.

The Department of Justice says the man in his 30s died on June 24 while on supervised release.

“Adult Custody Services became aware of his passing on July 25,” the department said in a news release on Wednesday.

Officials are not releasing the man’s name at this time at the request of his next of kin.

A coroner’s inquest will be held into the man’s death once “all relevant investigations are complete,” said the department.
