Disappointment and disbelief from Ward 4 Councillor Ray Strowbridge that his submission asking for the winter management plan to be reviewed was referred to staff without any discussion around the council horseshoe.
Strowbridge tells us because this referral motion is open-ended with no recommendations or even a timeline it accomplishes nothing. He says right now he has no idea what’s going to happen but he isn’t going to forget about this – adding, if he has to make the motion again next winter he will.
Councillor Donna Reardon making the motion to refer it to staff which narrowly passed with a 6-4 vote. Mayor Mel Norton says the wording in the motion is such that it is a referral motion however Strowbridge contending that multiple times.
In Strowbridge’s submission it says that the current winter management system is ignoring priority 4 streets and leaving citizens behind.
