N.B. COVID-19 Hospitalizations Rise; 17 New Cases

Another individual is in hospital with COVID-19 in New Brunswick which brings the total to six with four patients in an intensive care unit.

Public Health is reporting 17 new cases of COVID-19 today and eight new recoveries from the virus.

The number of active cases is 121.

Moncton Zone 1 has eight new cases:

  • a person 19 and under
  • four people 20-29
  • three people 30-39.

Five cases are contacts of previously confirmed ones, two cases are under investigation and one is travel-related.

Fredericton Zone 3 has one new case:

  • an individual 40-49 and the case is under investigation.

Edmundston Zone 4 has four new cases:

  • a person 19 and under
  • a person 40-49
  • a person 60-69
  • a person 70-79.

Two cases are contacts of previously confirmed ones and two cases are under investigation.

Campbellton Zone 5 has three new cases:

  • a person 19 and under
  • a person 40-49
  • a person 60-69.

Two cases are contacts of previously confirmed cases and one is under investigation.

Miramichi Zone 7 has one new case:

  • a person 19 and under and the case is a contact of a previously confirmed one.

Public Health reported today that 76.4 per cent of eligible New Brunswickers are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and 85.3 per cent have received their first dose of a vaccine.

A mobile vaccination clinic for those who have not yet received their first or second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine is taking place on Saturday, Sept. 11, at the New Brunswick Provincial Exhibition in Fredericton between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.
