COVID-19 Outbreak Declared At Stan Cassidy Centre

An outbreak of COVID-19 has been declared at the Stan Cassidy Centre for Rehabilitation in Fredericton.

The Horizon Health Network says an employee at the facility tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday.

“As this is a high-risk situation, Horizon is declaring an outbreak at the Centre,” said Karen McGrath, president and CEO, in a statement Sunday.

All patients who were in contact with the employee had rapid testing on Sunday and tested negative, said McGrath.

She said all staff who were in contact have had COVID-19 testing and all other employees at the centre will be tested as a precaution.

The health authority is restricting all visitors at the centre and cancelling scheduled appointments.
