CPKC Holiday Train rolls into N.B. this week

New Brunswickers can see the Canadian Pacific Kansas City Holiday Train for the first time this year.

The Holiday Train will roll into Saint John on Thursday, along with performers James Barker Band and Clerel.

The tour across Canada and the U.S. is meant to spread holiday cheer and serve as a fundraiser for local food banks.

The free Saint John show starts at 6 p.m. Thursday at the TD Station parking lot.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a cash donation or a non-perishable food item.

The train is also scheduled to stop at the train station in McAdam at 11 a.m. Friday. Lakeland Industries will be on site to collect food or monetary donations for the southwest New Brunswick region.

Since its inception in 1999, the Holiday Train has raised more than $24 million and 5.3 million pounds of food for community food banks.
