Firefighters battling a blaze at a 24-unit apartment building at 130 MacDonald Avenue in Oromocto.
The fire was in one apartment unit on the second floor and crews were able to contain the fire before it spread throughout the building.
A reception centre was opened up by the Oromocto Recreation and Tourism Department and the Red Cross for the displaced tenants however most were allowed back into their homes within several hours.
The Oromocto Fire Department had three engines, one rescue unit and 25 firefighters on the scene. The CFB Gagetown Fire Department also responded to the blaze.
