CUPE Local 1190 reaches deal with N.B. government

A new collective agreement for the Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 1190 with the provincial government.

It represents more than 2,100 employees in general labour and trades, including mechanics, highway workers, parks workers, maintenance workers and health supply chain workers.

The agreement includes wage increases totalling $5 per hour over four years. It renews each year on December 16 and is retroactive to 2022. Employees will receive hourly wage increases of $1 in year one, $1.10 in year two, $1.30 in year three and $1.60 for year four, which ends in December 2025.

The agreement also includes increases in allowances for boots and tools, as well as recognition and retention premiums for employees with 15 or more years of service.
