It sounds like a pretty cool way to a spend one week of your summer.
Janet Kidd of Darlings Island is the director for both the Sea Belles A Capella Chorus and the Men of Fundy Barbershop Chorus and she’s off to Nashville to attend Harmony University-a summer program put on by the Barbershop Harmony Society.
Kidd tells us she is following the director’s track and taking courses on things like conducting and a course called ‘Sound Management’ which deals with the physics of sound.
“It deals with where you people on the risers and how to amplify to sound of your chorus by putting people whose voices work well together,” Kidd says.
Kidd is able to attend the event thanks to funding from Sing Canada and the two choruses she directs.
