A familiar face will be back behind the Sea Dogs bench.
Saint John Sea Dogs Equipment Manager David “DK” Kelly will make his return Wednesday night against the Acadie Bathurst Titan at Harbour Station.
Kelly has been away from the Sea Dogs for the past few months while receiving treatment to battle a rare form of thyroid cancer.
He thanked everyone for their support along the way and gave a special thanks to doctors and staff at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Sea Dogs General Manager Trevor Georgie says DK has kept a positive attitude throughout his challenges and is admired around the world.
Georgie calls DK an “inspiration to people in all walks of life”.
The Sea Dogs host Acadie Bathurst tomorrow night. The puck drops at 7 o’clock.
