A dead humpback whale washed up on the shores of an island in Halifax Harbour.
It was first spotted on Thursday.
Members of the Marine Animal Response Society confirm the humpback is now beached on the shores of Lawlor Island.
Researchers are hoping to do a necropsy to learn more about how the whale died.
The society is working with the province, feds and veterinarians in PEI to determine next steps.
