Saint John police say the death of a woman found in the backyard of an apartment building on the east side is a homicide.
This comes after the completion of an autopsy.
Police are not releasing the cause of death right now and the identity of the 44-year-old woman isn’t being released at this time either.
Police were called to Melrose Street off Mount Pleasant Avenue East on Sunday morning about a suspicious death.
A neighbour returning home found an unresponsive woman in the backyard. The woman was taken to the Regional Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Major Crime is continuing to investigate.
