UPDATED: Aerial Search Resumes For Missing Fishermen

An aerial search has resumed for five missing fishermen who were onboard the Chief William Saulis.

Nova Scotia RCMP have partnered with the Department of Lands and Forestry to search the coastline by helicopter.

A Canadian Coast Guard vessel is expected to arrive in Digby by Friday, allowing the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team to perform sonar exploration in search of the sunken fishing vessel.

Debris consistent with a small section of the vessel was located earlier this week.

The Transportation Safety Board is helping to determine whether it was from the missing scallop boat.

The Chief William Saulis went down on Dec. 15 in the Bay of Fundy off the Nova Scotia coast.
