The city would like to close the Somerset Community Centre May 31st.
A decommissioning plan has been put forward for approval by Common Council.
City Staff say, with closure, there would be savings of 32 thousand dollars this year and another 68 thousand next year.
The plan calls for that money to be spent on community outreach programmes in Crescent Valley. The new “Y’ on Churchill Boulevard will be opening up in November.
