Janson Bryan Baker is facing two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Bernard and Rose Marie Saulnier.
The court has heard they were shot and killed in their Dieppe, New Brunswick home in 2019.
The trial began on Tuesday with opening statements from the Crown, but was delayed on Wednesday due to the weather.
Multiple media reports state it was delayed again on Thursday due to legal issues.
The trial is expected to resume on Monday.
Three months have been set aside for the trial.
