A local developer is halting plans for a pair of five-storey residential buildings in Millidgeville.
A rezoning application for 172 Manners Sutton Road is supposed to go before Common Council tonight for first and second reading.
But also included in the agenda package is a letter from Mike Cavanaugh, who wants council to withdraw his application.
Two weeks ago, the Planning Advisory Committee recommended that council deny the rezoning after hearing overwhelming opposition from area residents.
Most of the concerns related to traffic safety and the overall context of the 30-unit buildings within a one-unit residential zone.
