Disturbing Testimony Continues In Irving Trial

A highly disturbing Saint John trial that highlights the issue of domestic violence continues to unfold.
Police testimony in the Joseph Irving trial indicates that Cynthia Irving was strangled first with her assailant’s bare hands, and then with an extension cord. Her husband, Joseph Irving, told a 911 dispatcher he “lost it” when his wife announced she was leaving him. He’s pleaded not guilty to second degree murder, although he did make a failed attempted to plead guilty to manslaughter.
Many in court became emotional as video and photos were shown from the murder scene.

More witnesses, some of them minors, will be called to the stand today.
