Do You Know How To Report An Animal With Rabies?

After a few possible sightings, the Town of St. Andrews is reminding the public of the proper procedure to report rabid animals.

In a statement, the Town says if you see an animal you think may have rabies, the first step is to call the provincial 811 Tele-care Service.

It says this service is your first point of contact, and its through this service that the province is to respond.

Municipalities can not make calls on behalf of individuals, as the operators of Tele-care ask very specific questions, and they need that information first-hand.

The Town says there have been a couple of possible sightings of animals with rabies this spring in Saint Andrews. If you witnessed an animal acting strangely, and think it could possibly be rabid, CLICK HERE for a link to the Provincial 811 Tele-care Service contact page.
