Do you know what Marigolds & Murals is?

Marigolds & Murals is a long -running community beautification and empowerment initiative, found by well-known local resident Barry Ogden in 1997, here in Saint John. Since it’s inception, millions of marigolds planted across the Greater Saint John area, involving dozens of local schools and students learning hands-on botany and community pride. Also, hundreds of vibrant murals painted throughout the city’s core neighborhoods, alongside refurbishing and painting local homes and senior-owned properties.

Marigolds & Murals is powered by tens of thousands of community volunteers, local artists, and private donations rather than major government funding. Their mission is to built to foster civic pride, empower youth through hands-on participation, and brighten up urban spaces.

You can read more about the initiative’s history and impact through Envision Saint John.
