Doucet Wants Charlotte County Group To Stop Scaring People About Cuts To CCH

The Minister responsible for Opportunities NB wants a conversation about the Charlotte County Hospital.

MLA for Fundy-The Isles-Saint John West, Rick Doucet says the Concerned Citizens of Charlotte County group have very valid points, including those brought forward during the Strategic Program Review.

However, “It’s quite unfortunate that John Gardner lays awake dreaming about the Charlotte County Hospital and its demise. Number one, he told everyone it was going to close, that’s not going to happen. Now, he’s talking about the cuts, and really he needs to stop scaring the people down there.”

Doucet says as far as the Charlotte County Hospital is concerned, we really should be having a great conversation about our location and how unique it is, along with innovation, the people involved, and volunteers work at the hospital.

He says we need to engage everyone together and get the synergies at the same table. Doucet says the objective between MLA John Ames and himself is to talk about the sustainability of healthcare, and the sustainablity of the Charlotte County Hospital so that conversation never comes up again. “I think we’ve got a great facility down there, so how do we work together to show that we really have a good facility, and do some unique things that are out of the box.”
