A Department of Transportation and Infrastructure employee has died following a workplace accident.

Laragh Dooley, communications director with WorkSafeNB, said the incident happened near Woodstock on Wednesday.

“WorkSafeNB is investigating,” wrote Dooley in an email Thursday. “As this is an active investigation we cannot release anything further.”

The department confirmed the death of one of its employees in an emailed statement Thursday.

“DTI is fully cooperating with the ongoing WorkSafeNB investigation, and cannot comment further at this time,” wrote spokesperson Paul Bradley.
