East Side Convenience Store Robbed

Another Saint John convenience store has been the target of an armed robbery.

Police say they were called to Little John’s Variety on John T. McMillan Avenue around 8 p.m. Friday.

Sgt. Ramsay Hunt said a man armed with a handgun entered the store and gathered some merchandise.

Hunt said the suspect ran from the store to a waiting vehicle and fled the scene.

There were no reports of any injuries. The Major Crime Unit is investigating.

It is the second convenience store in the city to be robbed this week.

At around 5 p.m. Thursday, police said someone armed with a weapon walked into the Movie Tyme location in Lansdowne Plaza.

The person fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Saint John Police Force at 506-648-3333.
