Eastern Charlotte issues water conservation notice

Residents and businesses in St. George and Blacks Harbour are being told to limit water usage.

Eastern Charlotte issued a water conservation notice for municipal users as of Monday evening.

“The water conservation is due to the current dry weather we are experiencing and to help maintain the local water supply,” the municipality said in a statement.

Those on the municipal water supply are asked to refrain from unnecessary water usage until further notice.

That includes washing vehicles, driveways and homes, watering your lawn and filling swimming pools.

Residents on private wells are also encouraged to do the same to avoid their own wells from going dry.
