Economic Development Minister: We Need To Stay Open Minded

It’s still on the table.

Now that the Strategic Program Review is finished — the future of the Charlotte County Hospital is still in question.

Economic Development Minister Rick Doucet, who lives in Charlotte County, says he knows the importance of the Charlotte County Hospital and the excellent services it offers.

On the other hand, Doucet says it’s important to talk about everything and to stay open-minded during the process. He says we can’t start taking items off the table until everything has been discussed about revenue and expenses.

The province has been battling a looming debt close to $12 billion dollars, and are looking for ways to cut costs and save money.

Doucet believes the public dialogue sessions were a success. He says they were able to take home many good ideas from the Strategic Program Review tour around the province — both for revenue and expenditures.
