Elsipogtog First Nation Wins Kraft Hockeyville

Elsipogtog First Nation in New Brunswick has been crowned the winner of this year’s Kraft Hockeyville contest.

The community received the highest number of votes during 32 hours of voting on Friday and Saturday.

They will receive $250,000 to help fix the Chief Young Eagle Recreation Centre, which was damaged by fire.

In addition, the community will receive the chance to host an NHL game.

Three other communities were also in the running: Bobcaygeon, Ont.; Lumsden, Sask.; and Saint Adolphe, Man.

They will each receive $25,000 in arena upgrades.
