Emergency alert system to be tested in Saint John

Saint John will test its emergency alert system Thursday.

A release from the city said the Saint John Emergency Management Organization will send out a test alert at 10 a.m.

Residents who have signed up for the alerts will receive an email, text or voice alert with a message saying it’s only a test.

Residents who haven’t signed up for the system are encouraged to do so here.

Saint John EMO and the City use the system to broadly communicate urgent public notices.
