Emergency training exercise in Saint John

Emera New Brunswick and NB Power are holding an emergency training exercise in west Saint John on Tuesday.

The exercise is taking place near Pipeline Road between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

“During this exercise, we will work closely with a broad group of stakeholders to test emergency response plans and interagency communications practices in a simulated emergency scenario,” Emera said in a news release.

“Training exercises provide emergency responders and industrial stakeholders an opportunity to work together and refine the tactical elements of emergency response plans.”

Members of the Saint John Fire Department and other stakeholders will also be participating in the exercise.

Area residents may notice emergency response vehicles and increased activity, but no traffic disruptions are anticipated.
