Things cannot continue as they are……..So says British Prime Minister Theresa May reacting to this past weekend’s terrorist attack in London where people were stabbed and pedestrians mowed down by a van as they were walking along London Bridge. 7 people were killed by three attackers who themselves were shot and killed by police.
May says cyberspace should be regulated to stop the spread of extremist and terrorism planning.
There are reportedly 500 counter terrorism investigations underway in Britain of 3 thousand people. May says five terrorist plots were prevented from happening in the past ten weeks.
Police know the identities of the three killers and raids have been taking place in East London with at least 11 people taken into custody.
Of the 48 people who were injured, 21 are said to be in critical condition at last report.
30 year old Christine Archibald of B-C, has been identified as one of the people who were killed in the London terror attack. She was struck and killed while walking along London Bridge. Archibald had travelled to Europe to be with her fiancee. They was spending the weekend in London and had decided to go on a walking tour.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau confirmed the news in a statement in which he condemned the senseless attack.
Five Arab countries including Saudi Arabia and Egypt say they have cut links with Qatar over its support of terrorism, including ISIS. Qatar is denouncing the move as unjustified with no basis in fact.
