Another Week, Another Big Rain

The Maritimes is in for another major rainfall Tuesday overnight and Wednesday.

Environment Canada has issued special weather statements and warnings for heavy rain in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.

Southern and central New Brunswick and PEI can expect 30 to 50 mm of rain, with embedded downpours or thunderstorms and locally higher amounts.

Nova Scotia could see 40 to 80 mm.

The agency says there remains a fair bit of uncertainty as to how this weather disturbance, which is unrelated to Hurricane Franklin, will evolve.

Similar storms have caused water pooling on road surfaces, road shoulder erosion and washouts as well as elevated river levels.

Please monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
