DESCRIPTION:2026 Greater Saint John Lunar New Year Gala – Year of the Horse\nAs the Year of the Horse arrives\, the Lunar New Year Gala returns to the Imperial\nTheatre\, hosted by the Greater Saint John Chinese Cultural Association\, with the\nsupport of the City of Saint John\, the Province of New Brunswick\, many\nbusinesses\, and our incredible local community. \nThis year’s program combines carefully selected and thoughtfully prepared\nperformances from the local Chinese community with the support and participation\nof some of Saint John’s and New Brunswick’s most respected artists and ensembles.\nFeatured appearances include the Saint John String Quartet\, the Saint John Youth\nOrchestra\, the Oberig Choir and Saint John High School Choir. \nThe gala also welcomes Chen Fei\, a nationally recognized performer of Chinese\ntraditional instruments\, whose work adds a distinctive musical voice to the program.\nWith guidance from experienced local musicians and ensembles\, this year’s community-\nled performances move beyond familiar formats\, creating moments of contrast\,\ncollaboration\, and fresh cultural exchange on stage.\nA new stage and visual design\, created specifically for this year’s production\, offers a\nrefreshing and immersive theatre experience. The show will also include a special\nguest appearance by James Mullinger\, a British comedian based in greater Saint\nJohn\, who has taken Canada by storm and will take part in selected moments of this\nshow. \nDesigned as a family-friendly event\, the Lunar New Year Gala offers audiences a lively\nand engaging way to welcome the lunar new year at the Imperial Theatre.
