Familiar Face Running for PC Party in St. Croix

A familiar face is joining the race of provincial politics.

The Progressive Conservatives have chosen their candidate for the riding of St. Croix.

Greg Thompson has officially thrown his hat into the ring for the upcoming provincial election. Former MP John Williamson congratulated Thompson on Facebook and says he was nominated by former MLA for the area, Curtis Malloch.

Thompson is a former teacher from Fundy High School who worked there in the late 1970’s. Thompson then went into politics and served six terms as a Member of Parliament, first being elected to the House of Commons in 1988.

He served as Minister of Veterans Affairs before resigning from Stephen Harper’s Cabinet in 2010.

The provincial election is coming up on September 24th, 2018.
