A family of four has been displaced after a fire in the north end.
Acting Platoon Chief for the Saint John Fire Department Roy Byers says crews encountered heavy smoke and fire coming from the second floor at 7 Pugsley Avenue.
Byers says quick action allowed the crews to contain the fire with little fire damage involved.
He says the second floor of the structure suffered considerably smoke and water damage.
There were no injuries, however, one family pet was lost during the fire.
The Canadian Red Cross provided emergency lodging, food and clothing for a couple and two teenaged children.
