Family Plus Receives $20K Grant

A not-for-profit mental health care provider in Saint John is getting a major funding boost.

Family Plus recently received a $20,000 grant from the Bell Let’s Talk Community Fund.

The money will help the organization provide 200 subsidized counselling sessions to people in need in Greater Saint John.

Sharon Amirault, CEO of Family Plus, said they are pleased to receive the grant.

“As we close in on two years of a global pandemic, there has never been a more important time in our history to ensure access to services,” Amirault said in a news release.

Family Plus has a new pilot project called ACTION, which helps coordinate access to services through a screening process over the phone.

This allows for timely collaboration with partner organizations that are the best match for clients, according to the organization.
