Fatal crash near Waasis, N.B.

A 23-year-old New Maryland man is dead after a crash near Waasis, New Brunswick.

RCMP believe on Thursday night, a driver who was speeding the wrong way on Route 7 collided head-on with another vehicle.

When police arrived, they found one driver, a 23-year-old man, suffering from life-threatening injuries. He died in the hospital a couple of hours later.

The other driver was treated for what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The Oromocto Fire Department, Ambulance New Brunswick, Department of Transportation and Infrastructure, Department of Fisheries and Oceans, and the RCMP Forensic Collision Analyst Team also assisted at the scene.
