The Liberals are set to choose a new leader and prime minister.
Voting started on Wednesday and will conclude on Sunday afternoon. The winning candidate to be announced later that afternoon.
Four candidates are in the running, with former Bank of Canada Governor Mark Carney and former Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland considered the frontrunners.
Frank Baylis, a former Montreal-area MP and Ontario MP Karina Gould are also in the running.
The leadership race was brought upon by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s decision in January to resign and prorogue parliament amidst declining popular support and pressures from some Liberal MPs.
The transfer of power to the new leader has yet to be determined and if an imminent election call will come from the new leader.
The House of Commons is set to resume on March 27th and the government will likely face non-confidence motions to try and trigger an election.
