Federation Of Labour Hears Call To Action

The Canadian Labour Congress has set as one of its priorities the defeat of the Harper Government in next year’s federal election. That message was delivered by C-L-C President Hassan Yussuff to the New Brunswick Federation of Labour’s annual convention in Saint John who warns unions are under attack with the federal government bound and determined to roll back measures that have improved the lives of worlking people

Yussuff is calling for a national childcare strategy that is similar to what they have in Quebec which costs 7 dollars a day to operate.

He also denounces the use [of temporary foreign workers as a device by business to drive down wages which is not good for the economy.
