Fentanyl Disguised As Oxycocet Could Be Circulating: Police

Police in Saint John are warning about possible counterfeit pills circulating in the community.

Officers seized a large quantity of pills from a residence in the city’s north end in Nov. 2022.

Investigators thought they were Oxycocet pills, a generic form of Percocet pills.

But lab results have since confirmed the pills actually contained the powerful opioid fentanyl.

“It is possible that more of these pills are circulating in our community,” police said in a news release Wednesday.

According to police, the pills have a strikingly similar appearance to Oxycocets, as shown in the picture above.

Police said you should not ingest any drug that is “not approved for human consumption and prescribed or recommended by a physician.”
