Final Week Of Services For Uptown Saint John Church

If you have never attended a service at the Church of Saint Andrew and Saint David, this is the week to do so.

This is the final week of services at the 164 Germain Street building first built in 1814-15 and then re-constructed between 1878-79 after the great Saint John.

It’s beautiful Casavant organ will be silenced on Sunday afternoon following the 3 PM service.

Terre Hunter is the chair of the Board of Trustees and tells us they are seeking a new home because the dwindling congregation and size of the building made it a logical choice.

“It was a very tough decision but the reality was facing us pretty clearly, so we decided to sell the building we are continuing on, we are not closing shop we are just moving,” stated Hunter.

They are now looking at a new location for their United Church congregation somewhere in the South End.
