An off-duty firefighter in Quispamsis out walking the dog discovered a fire in a daycare Sunday afternoon.
Around 4 p.m., the call came into the Kennebacasis Valley Fire Department that smoke was coming through the door frames of a daycare at 4 Landing Court.
Upon arriving, crews heard alarms and entered the building but found the fire had pretty much been extinguished when the water pipes melted and water had sprayed out.
The fire was contained mostly to the office of the daycare and part of the attic.
No one was in the building at the time and the cause of the fire is not considered suspicious in nature.
