Fire crews extinguish early morning fire in Maces Bay

The Musquash Fire Department made quick work of an early morning structure fire in Maces Bay.

Crews were called to the scene near Point Lepreau Nuclear Generating Station around 4:30 a.m. Monday.

Lt. Rick Else said flames broke out in an attached garage and had spread into the home’s attic.

Fortunately, Else said crews were able to keep the fire from spreading further through the residential part of the building.

“The majority of the property and personal belongings were able to be saved,” said Else in a news release.

No one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
