Fire Damages Former School In Hampton

Fire has caused major damage to the former Lakeside School in Hampton.

Hampton Fire-Rescue was called to the building on Lakeside Road around 7:30 p.m. Monday.

Deputy fire Chief Mike Raeburn says crews quickly knocked down the flames with help from the Nauwigewauk, Upham, and Kennebecasis Valley fire departments.

Raeburn said the building has been unoccupied for “several years.”

“The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time,” he said.

NB Power had to shut off the power to about 400 customers for roughly an hour.
