Fire Damages Garnett Settlement Home

Three people are temporarily homeless after a fire damaged their home east of Saint John.

Fire crews were called to a mini-home on White Road in Garnett Settlement early Monday.

A woman and two children are getting help from the Canadian Red Cross.

Meanwhile, seven people were displaced after a fire in a multi-unit apartment building in Kingslcear First Nation around 2 a.m. Monday.

The Red Cross is providing emergency purchases like clothing and food while the band council is helping with emergency lodging.
