Fire destroys Kingston Peninsula Home

Six people have been displaced after a fire destroyed a home on the Kingston Peninsula.

Fire crews were called to Milkish Creek Road near Bayswater around 9 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Canadian Red Cross.

“There were no reports of serious injuries, though one youth was checked and treated at hospital,” the agency said in a news release.

Spokesperson Dan Bedell said volunteers are providing emergency support to a couple and four children.

That includes emergency lodging, transportation and purchases like food, clothing and other basic needs.

There is no word yet on what caused the fire.
