Fire destroys Quispamsis garage

Fire has destroyed a two-storey garage in the town of Quispamsis.

The Kennebecasis Valley Fire Department was called to Meenans Cove Road just before 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Officials said the two-car garage was engulfed when they arrived on the scene.

Firefighters initially focused on protecting the nearby home before moving on to fight the garage fire.

“The garage and one vehicle were totally destroyed, however, the home had minimal exterior damage,” the department said in a Facebook post.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The Hampton, Nauwigewauk, Long Reach and Peninsula fire departments provided tanker trucks to help battle the blaze.
