A late-night fire on Saint John’s east side destroyed the cab of a transport truck.
Fire crews were called to 81 Thorne Avenue shortly before midnight Thursday night, according to acting platoon Chief Roy Byers.
Byers said arriving crews found a sleeper cab highway tractor engulfed in flames near a building.
Crews worked quickly to knock down the fire and prevent it from spreading into the building, he said.
Byers said firefighters were on the scene for just over an hour and no one was hurt.
