A fire broke out last night shortly after 8:30 in the north end in a three storey apartment building at 449/451 Main Street North near McDonalds.
Platoon Chief Eric Garland says fire crews found heavy fire in a second floor apartment with a kitchen and adjoining bedroom engulfed in flames.
Seven people lived in the building and they will out for some time. No one was injured by a cat died from smoke inhalation.
The cause is under investigation.
