The first to enter the New Brunswick Progressive Conservative leadership race says he wants to rebuild the party.
Daniel Allain announced his intentions on Saturday.
“I love this province. I’ve seen potential everywhere, from entrepreneurs building new ideas in small towns, nurses and teachers who work tirelessly and volunteers who give up their time daily. We’re a province that is full of great people who want to give. For myself, I also have an opportunity to give. I want to rebuild the PC party of New Brunswick. It’s important, we have a long and rich history of the PC party in New Brunswick, and it’s time that I step up and help my party,” Allain said.
Allain is a former MLA for Moncton East, a former cabinet minister and also served on Dieppe City Council.
His five-point plan for 2026 includes increasing the party membership, renewing fundraising and making sure they have a strategy for all 49 ridings.
“I believe that this five-point plan can improve the PC party’s status and make sure that our rich history is recognized and that we are ready to tackle the status quo in September 2027. My leadership will stand for respect over ideology, results over rhetoric and unity over conflict,” Allain expressed.
A new leader will be chosen in October 2026.
